We are a Bible-believing, Spirit-led, Christ-centered church that strives to practice traditional Christianity with contemporary relevance for our culture and time in history. Our doctrine can be summarized with these 5 statements of belief:

  • We believe that everything important in this life and the life beyond hinges on the person and work of Jesus Christ, God’s only Son.
  • We believe the Bible is the only absolute reliable source about God and life.
  • We believe God’s Holy Spirit desires to live inside us and continue the work of God on Earth as recorded in the Bible.
  • We believe God wants to connect our lives with other followers of Christ and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
  • We believe God calls us to a journey of growth in our relationship with Him and to invite others to do the same.

The Bible is inspired by God and declares His design and plan for mankind.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 [NIV]
1 Thessalonians 2:13 [NIV]
2 Peter 1:21 [NIV]

There is only one true God revealed in three persons––Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

Deuteronomy 6:4 [NIV]
Isaiah 43:10,11 [NIV]
Matthew 28:19 [NIV]
Luke 3:22 [NIV]

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. As God’s Son, Jesus was both human and divine.

Philippians 2:9-11 [NIV]
Hebrews 1:3 [NIV]

Though originally good (in the Garden of Eden), man willingly fell to sin––ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

Genesis 3:6 [NIV]
Romans 5:12-19 [NIV]

Every person can have restored fellowship with God through salvation (trusting Christ, through faith and repentance, to be our personal Savior).

Romans 10:13-15 [NIV]
Ephesians 2:8 [NIV]
Titus 3:5-7 [NIV]

We practice two ordinances—(1) water baptism by immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving Christ's gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation.

Acts 10:47,48 [NIV]
Romans 6:4 [NIV]
1 Corinthians 11:26 [NIV]

Though the “promised Holy Spirit” (Ephesians 1:13-14) is given to the believer at the moment of salvation and there are many “fillings of the Holy Spirit” in the life of the believer, the “baptism of the Holy Spirit” is a special experience following salvation empowering believers for bold witness and a heart for the lost, just as it did in New Testament times.

Luke 24:49 [NIV]
Acts 1:4 [NIV]
Acts 1:8 [NIV]
Acts 8:12-17 [NIV]
Acts 11:14-16 [NIV]

Although the enduring interior evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a Christ-centered life demonstrating the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit, the “initial physical” evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues, as experienced on the Day of Pentecost, patterned throughout the book of Acts, and referenced in the Epistles.

Acts 2:4 [NIV]
Acts 10:44-46 [NIV]
1 Corinthians 12:4-10 [NIV]
Galations 5:22-26 [NIV]

Sanctification (a changed heart leading to changed behavior) initially occurs at salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christ-like.

Romans 12:1,2 [NIV]
1 Thessalonians 5:23 [NIV]
1 Peter 1:15,16 [NIV]

The church has a mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe 'the Church' is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God's offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.

Acts 1:8 [NIV]
Matthew 28:19,20 [NIV]
Ephesians 4:11-16 [NIV]
1 Corinthians 14:12 [NIV]

Called and ordained leaders serve the church as ministers. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, and to build up (or edify) the body of believers–the Church.

Mark 16:15-20 [NIV]
John 4:23,24 [NIV]
Ephesians 4:11-16 [NIV]

Praying, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the sick to be healed is an ongoing expectation for Christians today and is provided for in Christ's atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins).

Isaiah 53:4,5 [NIV]
Matthew 8:16,17 [NIV]
James 5:14-16 [NIV]

Jesus will take His Church prior to His return to earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever.

1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 [NIV]
Romans 8:23 [NIV]
Titus 2:13 [NIV]
1 Corinthians 15:51,52 [NIV]

Jesus will return with His saints at His second coming and begin His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.

Revelation 1:7 [NIV]
Revelation 19:11-14 [NIV]
Revelation 20:1-6 [NIV]
Ezekiel 37:21,22 [NIV]

A final judgment will take place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in hell (eternal separation from God, described as a lake of fire).

Matthew 25:46 [NIV]
Mark 9:43-48 [NIV]
Revelation 20:11-15 [NIV]

Followers of Jesus look toward a new heaven and a new earth He is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. 'And so shall we forever be with the Lord!'

2 Peter 3:13 [NIV]
Revelation 21 [NIV]
Revelation 22 [NIV]
